Our commitments for a sustainable world
The Garella group celebrated a half-century of fashion in 2020. Years have passed at your side, to develop our collections to bring you renewed fashion that is always chic and comfortable. And tomorrow? Our challenge for the next 50 years, as a major player in an industry that is known to be polluting, is to contribute by offering fashion that is more responsible and respectful of the environment.
Our commitment is not recent.
In fact, it's one of the major cornerstones of our adventure since the 1990s.
70% of our products today are manufactured with a material that the most loyal know well: technical jersey, our flagship material made in Italy. It is popular due to its comfort, its ease of maintenance, and its durability. This jersey is run-resistant, stretchy, and extremely soft. br But did you know that beyond the fabric, an entire eco-friendly process that has been put into place over the years with our Italian supplier?
30 million liters - this is the volume of cooling water that is reused in the process of fabric production, for an annual energy saving of more than 200 TOE (tonne of oil equivalent).
Our fabric manufacturer saves 900,000 kWh of energy each year, which is about 8% of the factory's annual consumption. How? By using clean energy from renewable sources, efficient machines, and a photovoltaic system that produces 18,000 kWh per year.
- REDUCTION IN CARBON EMISSIONS.
Carbon dioxide emissions are one of the main causes of global warming. Thanks to energy efficiency measures, our manufacturer reduced its consumption of methane by about 350,000 m3 per year, which corresponds to about 700 tonnes of CO2.
- REDUCING WASTE..
With a better recycling process for processing and production waste, a process optimization for dyeing and printing, and packaging management, the company achieved impressive results: an annual saving of 4,000 meters of cellophane and 9,000 tubes of cardboard packaging.
